Re: 93 engine swap?

Welcome to AF!!

Stick with a 3.1 of the same year. That will make the installation go much easier. It is possible that 3.1's from other years will fit the car and work just fine. If you are looking for an engine check car-part.com or cherryauto.com. These sites will often give you the model years that will fit the car when you search for an engine. They list them by year, mileage and price.

Re: 93 engine swap?

It is extremely difficult to change engines in these cars especially if you want to increase size from a 3.1 to a 3.8. You have to change the wiring harness, engine computers, transmissions and a host of other items. This usually makes it cost prohibitive. Unfortunately there really aren't any good mods available for the 3.1 although you can increase performance slightly if you open up the exhaust and increase the amount of cold air to the engine. Otherwise you are really out of luck.
