Exclamation New to Mustangs, but not tuning or AF.

Sup fellas,

I'm Darrell, I'm an old school AF member and I recently purchased my first Mustang. It's a 2004 40th anniversary, it's red and has 48k miles. It's also a five speed. It's the first car I've owned which was NOT an Acura. I used to be really big into tuning cars until my 1997 GSR was stolen. I then bought a 1992 Integra and used it for my commuter. This past weekend I purchased the aformentioned Mustang and I love it. It's only the V-6 but it has more HP than I'm used to on a bone stock vehicle.

Here is a photo of the car.

A supercharger is in my future, it's not going to be a reality until my warranty runs out. Here is what I am looking at for my first set of mods.

Pypes 100% Stainless True Dual Converter-Back Kit!

Direct Replacement T-409 Stainless HIGH-FLOW CATTED X-PIPE

2-½ Converter-Back System w/clamps and hangers

3-inch T304 stainless steel tips

and

MotorVator Throttle Body Spacer
BBK 65mm Throttle Body
BBK HI-FLO Intake Kit
NGK V-Power Spark Plugs (set of 6)
Moto Blue HARDCORE Performance Wire Set
(this is a package for $799.00)

All of that will cost me around $1200. I have been looking at this site: http://www.rpmoutlet.com.

Can you guys recommend any other bolt-on's or what would you change?

Take it easy,

D

Re: New to Mustangs, but not tuning or AF.

I am not a V6 guy, but that is a nice looking Stang. Need to drop it a little for a better stance

I do those V6s are pretty stout, so you should have no trouble with the engine for a long time, even boosting.

Good luck on your build!

I have some import blood in me as well, or I should say just GTR blood

Tony

Re: New to Mustangs, but not tuning or AF.

As everyone said on 3.8, RPM is crap and I would think twice about buying the exhaust also.

Re: New to Mustangs, but not tuning or AF.

nice find, ill go easy on you since your from acuras and such

a TB spacer on these cars will not do anything, the TB wont do much on a near stock car either

go down to autozone or something and buy a K&N filter and throw that in the box, or look for a used cold air kit soemwhere, dont pay more then like $80 for one though

next, exhaust if you plan on a blower, i would suggest LTs (MAC is the only company that makes them) even though the shorties from the factory are pretty good, along with a high flow catted H or X pipe (your preferance) and your preferance of mufflers (i like force pro series from jegs, flow 40s for half the price ) i would run a 2.5 inch all the way back

next up you will need something to tune it, so hit up VMPtuning.com for an SCT tuner

next up the POS 7.5 rear end, i would suggest a used set of 3.73s from mpsautosalve.com, can be had for $50 and they check them so the teeth should be good, also a detroit true trac and TA rear girdle from drivetrainspeciailists.com would be prefered, as you can destroy FFRP tloks with near stock cars

for a blower you have two choices, either VMP as above has an 11 psi procharger or supersixmotorsports.com just released a upper intake adapeter to fit a m112 blower on top of the 3.8, mysteed over on 3.8mustang.com sells kits, for ~$2500

and stay away from rpmoutlet
