'90 Probe headlight door won't open
One of the headlight doors won't pop-up when I turn on the lights. This started on a really icy morning when there was ice around the headlight doors. The left one came up, but the right one won't
. There is a sticker under the hood that says if the doors don't open, see owners manual, but I have NO owners manual. Is there an easy way to manually open the headlight doors ? Or will I need to replace the motor ?

Re: '90 Probe headlight door won't open
First off, is the ice cleared off yet? The sticker is a bit misleading, I have a manual and all it says is to "Take it to the Dealer". No help there. There should be a white knob on the bottom of the motor that you can turn to manualy lift the door. Doesn't mean the motor didn't fry while trying to lift against the ice, but it should open the door for you. For future reference, if you push in on the headlight knob when you turn them off, the doors will stay up while the lights shut off. Handy little trick for washing or snow/ice.
You can do almost the same thing with the wipers. There is a plug next to the fuse panel under the drivers side dash that connects to a "SUMMER" or "WINTER" port on the edge of the fuse block. In the WINTER setting, the wipers should park higher on the windshield to allow the defrosters to thaw them easier. Hope this helps..
