Speedometer cable
How do you replace the speedometer cable? My speedometer worked just fine until today when it hit 0 while I was doing 50 and it won't move at all anymore, so im sure the cable broke or one of the ends of the cable broke. I was just wondering how I should go about repairing it.

Re: Speedometer cable
It's more likely to be the gear in the transmission, than a bad cable. What is your car? Does it have cruise control - and if so, is it mechanical or electronic?

Re: Speedometer cable
to get to the cable that goes to the back of the speedometer you have to remove the speedometer face, be really careful the needle can break easy

Re: Speedometer cable
I have a 90 caprice classic brougham. It does have cruise control. Don't really know if it's mechanical or electric.
