Re: 97,gtp stumbles on startup

Do you still have the original spark plugs and ignition wires? I didn't see them mentioned and a PCV valve.

Also, try cleaning the throttle body and IAC sensor.

And welcome to AF and the Grand Prix forum.

Re: 97 gtp stumbles on startup

Well the stumble is back , i think the car is mad , my wife returned from shopping and said the car was making a noise, upon investigation i did hear a suspicios noise from the pullies, i had planned on changing the belt (It looked worn) and i picked up a new one before we left, which came in pretty handy when the belt (sc belt)flew off while i was looking at it. It was the plastic idler pulley that bit it(auto zone had it in stock)
the idler pulley finished the belt off when it self destructed.
when the engine was revved during investigation i discovered that the engine will only rev to 4000 then 3500 then back to 4000 then back to3500 ect. the road test it revved to redline upon WOT under load and had no lack of power or miss of any kind. What do you guys think could cause this?
