Racing Stripes?

Think they would look good on my 97 GTP? It's all white (repainted about a year and a half ago), has 15% tinted window, all black headlight covers, white supercharged windshield banner (gt font style from zzpdecals) and I'm going to smoke the taillights soon. I want my car to stand out more and this is the only major way I could think of doing that. I was thinking about getting two black stripes down the center of the car, what do you guys think? Yay or nay?

I dont know man. Did you ever get your bad gas milage issure resolved? Before spending money on the exterior looks, might want to repair the mechanical issues. You'll thank yourslef later.

About that gas milage, I haven't EXACTLY gotten it resolved, but I think it should be ok. A week or so ago I filled my tires back up (they were extremely low and I had no clue) & the weather jumped back up into the 60s for a few days and my gas milage was between like 16.5-17.5 for those few days. I also talked to my friend's dad who is a mechanic about it and he said it will go up even a little more when they change the gas back to normal for the warmer months or something like that so I think I have that problem figured out. Also it's been about 30 degrees average here and I only drive short distances so what I was thinking is that the car never gets to get warm enough to give me good gas milage when I drive (since it jumped up when it was warmer out).

Now back to the racing stripes, I know it varies from place to place but would anyone have a ballpark estimate of how much it would cost? I have somewhat of an idea but not really sure at all (just 2 black stripes down the whole car).

Re: Racing Stripes?

Not sure how much they'd cost, but I too have thought about putting 2 racing stripes down my car, blue stripes on white body. Most of my hardware under the hood is blue, so I thought I'd keep the theme going. The only decision I think is deciding how think the stripes should be.

How they would be as in where to put them (left, right, center)? how wide to make them? same size or different size (if offsetted)? Cuz those are the decisions I'm having lol. I think I'm just gonna go with two down the center after winter.

Re: Racing Stripes?

That was actually what I had planned. A friend suggested 2 thick stripes down the center, with a thin pin stripe on either side. Share a picture if you get it down.

Re: Racing Stripes?

go for 2 thick stripes. theres a couple gp's runnin around here in stripes. just the 2 solid lines looks better than having the little pinstripes on the outsides IMO
