98' Olds Bravada with 4.3l Vortec V6. Won't start cold. Any ideas why?
Won't start cold with occasional "hard start". (Cylinder seems to fire early and stops rotation mid-crank.) Have both fuel and spark at cylinders. (Removed plugs are wet and fire when connected to wire.) Bravada's have block heaters for Northern climates. Plug in heater and let warm up (3 - 4 hours) and engine starts and runs fine. No fault codes. Replaced ECM coolant temperature sensor. No change. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

I would suspect condensation inside the distributor cap and on the rotor button inside the distributor.
I really like and use the block heater on my Dodge/Cummins...cheaper to warm up with electricity than with high priced fuel. |
