Door lock problem...unusual

1995 3000gt SL with keyless entry

I have a problem with the driver's side door lock. It has been this way since I've owned it. Everything works normal except for when I try to unlock the door with the keyless entry. THe driver's door remains locked.

I have to lock and then unlock with the key to get the door to open

I have checked the actuators, greased everything, and have tried various unlocking/locking schemes. Not sure what to do. ANy ideas?

------------------------------------------------------------------
FIY- this is what I mean by "normal"--->
keyless entry- pressing LOCK will lock both doors
pressing UNLOCK will unlock the passenger door, (it tries
to unlock the drivers door- i.e- noise, actuators moving,
but the drivers door remains locked)

In order to open the drivers door at this point I use the key to first lock and then unlock the door. If I try to just unlock the door with the key, the actuator clicks and the door remains locked.

both doors work fine using the key, electronic control inside the car, and the manual locks.

Re: Door lock problem...unusual

my dad's stealth does almost the same thing... except it doesn't UNlock the drivers door. these cars are just weird. I think it's something you just have to come to terms with. haha

THanks for responding. Yeah, it seems as though the polarity is reversed or something. It locks, tries to unlock but won't, has to be reset by locking with the key. If anyone else has any ideas let me know...

Re: Door lock problem...unusual

when i installed my mitsu alarm, it wasn't the factory 3000GT.... but still, i had to take off the glove compartment. i don't think there's a bad splice somewhere, because it is STILL unlocking once you lock in the first place.. but just my 2 cents.

Re: Door lock problem...unusual

Thanks for the replies... I finally figured out the problem and figured I'd post it in case anyone else has the same problem.

I had to set the lock mechanism in the door to the corresponding lock sequence....I had to use a screw driver to set the lock mechanism(the part that latches on the D ring on the frame to actually lock it shut) to up or open when the electronic trigger was set to unlock. Then I shut the door, pressed lock, which engaged the mechanism. Sort of a simple fix but it took awhile to figure it out... Hope this helps someone in the future...
