Re: gas mileage

Give it a tune-up, mainly for the distributor cap and rotor change.

Re: gas mileage

That is not far off for around town driving. Check your highway MPG; it should be 27-30 MPG. MPG is dependent on many things. Check your tire pressure. I fill to 35 psi and check the tires about every month and bring it back up to 35 psi. Check your front brakes to ensure they are not dragging because of a stuck caliper. Check your air filter. Honda recommends 5-30 w oil, if you are using 10-30 w oil your MPG will go down. If you live in a state that requires a lot of ethonal in the gas, your MPG will go down.

Re: gas mileage

I agree with mpumas, if you're mainly driving in the city, or in alot of traffic, you're actually getting pretty decent mileage. Aside from the tire pressure, have you had a transmission oil change? I know Honda recommends one every 120K, but if your tranny isn't running good, it can bring it down. Only reason I mention that is because I was getting about 24 MPG on the hwy in my '02 Accord, and I just had my tranny replaced (my car has 206,000 miles on it), and on my 1st tank with the new tranny, I calculated 30.49 MPG. And this 2nd tank of gas, isn't too far behind. So it could be that you tranny might be slipping a bit.
