My new workstation

Well after along Arug... umm debate/converstation with my wife on friday we decided that it was best for me to move my modeling and hobbies down into the garage.

She was complaining of the smell from the glue / paint and just general complaints! So after much bickering back and forth i decided screw it i will hit the the local hardware store and put together my new workstation!

The bench area is 3 feet on the short side and then 8 feet on the long side. I do have a pair of 48 inch forecents and a couple of 24 inch ones, I could not find the something to cover the bench yet so for now i put down some white plastic and put Cork board up on the walls in order to pin things up

Made a stop at a friends place to grab some old cabinets he was looking to get rid of.

Next my project is to build my spray painting booth

Little before and after, put in more cabinets, cleaned the place up relocated the Central vac installed some new lighting and it should work out. Only issue i have is am a big guy and hard to find a chair i wanted. Due to the hight of the counter peice i got i had to make the whole table that high however had an issue funding a stool that high.. So i made one

Re: My new workstation

Very nice. I like the monitor and the speaker setup. Very practical, lets you browse websites with references and watch race reviews, I bet.

Re: My new workstation

Nice work area, it's about 4 times larger than mine!

Does that fan have a brushless or isolated motor? Paint fumes are quite explosive.

Re: My new workstation

I was going to ask the same thing about the motor. That was the reason I went w/ the Dayton fan that I am using. The motor is isolated from the air stream, so the paint fumes arent sent through the motor, effectively eliminating the possibility of igniting the paint fumes. Granted, the chances of it actually happening are pretty remote, but I'd hate to have to deal w/ it, so any chance is too big a chance.

Re: My new workstation

I am not sure about the motor question, this was taken from there website.

What type of motors are used in Suncourt products?
The electric motors used in Suncourt products are C-Frame two-pole motors, Class B, Thermally Protected, sleeve bearings and synthetic lubricant. The exceptions are the 400 Series In-Line Duct Fans which have 4-pole, Class B, Thermally Protected motors with sleeve bearings and synthetic lubricant.
