Brake controller
My trailblazer is pre-wired under dash for brake controller application. Just to be sure, wire marked aux should connect to the trailer electric brakes wire on the controller.?!

Re: Brake controller
OK. The reason I ask, is of course 4 wires are pre-wired under dash. GND,BATT,AUX,CHMSL. As marked by tag from Chevy.
OFF Box: GND,BATT, pretty much self explanatory. Trailer Electric brakes and Cold side of stop lamp switch, as marked by controller box instructions. These are the 2 that I want to make sure were correct. The above, would make me believe that CHMSL(that is what is confusing me) would be for stop lamp. AUX would be for Auxilary power for the Trailer Brake. |

Re: Brake controller
Yes CHMSL is the brake signal wire from the brake switch at the pedal.
Wire Colors are as follows: Vehicle ************* Brake Controller ORANGE ----- 12 VOLT+ --------- BLACK BLACK ----- GROUND ----------- WHITE LT. BLUE ----- BRK. SWITCH ----- RED DRK. BLUE ---- TRAILER BRK. ----- BLUE Also under the hood there is a red charge line wire usually you will see it right to the side of the fuse box either taped or zip tied to a main wire harness and that has to be connected to the empty stud on the fuse box when you remove the cover to have your 12volt charge line to your 7 way trailer plug. |
