'97 LHS with Check Engine Light Code #43
My "Check Engine" light is coming on and staying on. I perform the routing to have my internal CPU display the engine codes, and Number 43 is shown. In checking my Haynes Book, this code deals with a gap in dwell and/or timing (or some such thing....very confusing), but all is working fine. I can't seem to erase this code and turn off the "Check Engine" light. What is going on here? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: '97 LHS with Check Engine Light Code #43
Code 43 is "Engine misfire in one or more cylinders", since the car is OBD-2 you can get it scanned and the tool will tell you which cylinders are misfiring. You may have a bad plug, bad wire, one of the coils may be bad.
I would try changing the plugs and wires first then see if the light goes away.

Re: '97 LHS with Check Engine Light Code #43
Thanks for the help. I was thinking that I would have to replace the coil to begin with, but checking the plugs and wires seemed to be just a tad easier...although replacing the coil seems to be a quick job on this model. I really appreciate the fast response.
