'96 crown victoria 4.6l no start
Drove car on Wed. got up goto work Thursday morning car wouldn't start, engine turns over strong but won't start. Done this once back in July sat week cranked no problem changed idle air cotrol valve, than again week before Thanksgiving sat 3 days cranked with no problem. Changed egr valve since the code pulled at time said excessive egr flow professional throttle body cleaning did notice after cleaning I had a high idle code pop up but mechanic told me may be a piece of carbon to drive it and blow it out, injectors were serviced, fuel pressure good, coil packs yr.old, tune up last year, new battery, new alternator, oil changed, have read that a cam or crank shaft sensor can cause a no start but would it be that intermittent. Could it be like a maf sensor or internal air temperature sensor or the engine coolant temperature sensor, problem is no codes have been ever returned for these at all. The car in the past use to stall on takeoff so I had to keep foot on the gas or keep foot on the gas for at least ten minutes before taking off. Could it be the idle air control valve may have went bad again, maybe stuck open. By the way this is a police package. And the last time I didn't get any sensor codes I just changed the idle air control valv and after a few attempts it started. I read on one post one guy had an intermittent starting problem for the last 40k miles, one of the suggestions was the crank sensor or wires to it are bad, wouldn't a crank sensor return a codehaft
disconnected the crankshaft position sensor car cranked right up, now I guess I have to determine whether it's the wires or the sensor, I did plug it back up and the car started gain, any thoughts
