wacky turn signals

Sounds like a trip to the dealer but has anyone else had this problem. 2006 Element: Problems only exist when headlights are on, such as turn on right turn signal and the yellow rear lens works fine, turn on the left and the left blinks and so does both red taillights Left turn indicator stays on solid when headlights are on and the turn signal is not being used. Put on the flashers and they stay on solid instead of flashing. Turn off the headlights and everything appears normal. This just started, probably a wiring issue but I wonder if a relay, fuse or turn signal switch may be bad. Any ideas?

Re: wacky turn signals

Vehicle belongs to a friend and she just took it to the dealer. Turns out the previous owner had installed a trailer hitch and goofed up the wiring harness. Thanks to everyone who viewed.
