ignition failure

I rebuilt my 1996 geo metro and I was test driving it. I got 17 miles and hit a rain storm. the car just quit and now i have no fire. I checked igniter and no power to that as well hence none to coil. I checked the interior fuse panel and alls well. any suggestions please? The rebuild was complete with turned crank and new pistons and cam. head rebuilt
