Question Exhaust

I drive a stock DX (D15b2) in the lighter 91 STD model civic with a few lil mods but nothing to the engine. Tomorrow im getting 2 1/4 in. piping with no Cat. and a universal muffler. Also i have an intake but its longer than short ram, the a/c belt removed, and that lil brass restrictor peice iin the DPFI removed. If anyone could help me on what my 1.4 mile times i can expect with this and what will the hp peak in the pwoerband be at(expected)???

Not to sure about the 1/4 mile time, but if i were you i would HIGHLY suggest you put on a cat. converter on or your cars going to be WAY to loud.

Just my 2 cents

And welcome to the forum

You will run low / mid 17's.
a D15b2 wont get you into 16's.

Considering my Si ran 16.7 1/4 mile stock with exhaust.
Then your cx or dx should run low / mid 17's.

I'm pretty sure most people here would agree with that time.

Yea, i would agree with the 17's, a D15B2 isn't gonna get you that far. Keep your cat on there though, if you decide to remove it, at least get a hi-flow cat.

My last car was a 91 Civic hatch STD. I had intake, 2 1/4 exhaust pipping, muffler, and that brass plate removed and managed to run my best time ever with that car... a 18.2. I guess my car looked faster thant it actually was. :licker:

i ran a best of 17.4 with a stock d15b2 engine, since then I got a 2 1/4" catback custom muffler, I doubt it did much but I would be happy to hit 16's...I will probably go again this summer and see how much it did.

how can you say that you cant expect to run 16's in the car, or whatever you said when it runs a 16.9 to 17 flat stock. I think you will run high to mid 16's

did you notice the difference in trim level when that was stated? He said his Civic Si runs 16.7 stock then he said that the DX should run somewhere in the 17s. There is a complete difference between those 2 trim lvls. The Si has a MPFI system, while the DX just has DPFI, i can't remember for sure what the Si stock HP is, but I know the DX is 92 hp.
