Re: tranny problems

I had a tranny problem in New Orleans once. It was a Sunday morning, and I was headed down to Court of Two Sisters for breakfast, when this "girl" in a dress and heels stopped in front of me to ask something. When "she" turned around and I noticed that "she" forgot to shave that morning, I just kept walking. It was pretty uncomfortable having to act like I didn't notice or hear "her" when we were the only two people on the street.

OH! You meant your transmission? Since the car is a '95, you may have the hybrid OBD 1½ PCM. That will require a bidirectional scanner to check for transmission trouble codes, which might be a hint as to the problem. You can also verify the fluid level, check the vacuum supply to the pressure modulator (the 1995 4T60E still has a vacuum modulator), and check the electrical connector on the transmission.

Out of curiosity, does the speedometer indicate correctly? Does the cruise control operate correctly? Can you manually shift through the ranges from "1" to "OD" with normal results? Will the car move from a stop when in "2" and when in reverse?
