Angry 1998 park avenue ultra

I have a 98 park avenue ultra. when you start it for the first time that day it runs fine until you turn it off then back on it has a loud knocking noise coming from the super charger. Any idea what this could be. The engine coolant light comes on some times but check it and it was fine. Please help

When was the last time you changed oil in the blower?

Re: 1998 park avenue ultra

Welcome to AF.

It would help to post your mileage.

Are you sure the noise is from specifically the supercharger or in the general area of it? Remove the SC drive belt and see what it does. You can run the engine with it off and it should run normal less the extra power.

Common problems for supercharger noise are the snout bearings and coupler. Hopefully it is nothing internal like the impeller drive. The coupler when bad or worn out cause a rattling sound heard mainly at idle. Also, look into a drive pulley, tensioner or idler pulley causing the knocking sound.
