98 malibu key will not turn

today after being parked our Malibu key will not turn at all.
The older key used to be this way but the new key always turned the ignition.
It seems as if it is not in sinc as the steering wheel will still turn.
It is in park but the key will not turn?
Any ideas appreciated.
It will not go out of park either.(or start)
There must be some kind of lock that the key is not activateing.

Cheers

I found the answer.
I sprayed the keys with lube and they worked?

Second try the key turned.

Thanks for looking.

Re: 98 malibu key will not turn

keep an eye on it, it could be the lock cylinder on it's way out, or could just be worn keys.
