Samona Air Brush Kit

Alright Peoples!

So i dropped into my local hardware store in order to pick up some dental picks in order to work on cleaning up my panel lines. Well while i was in there i ran across this Air Brush Kit.

Well it was listed at $39.99 so i was giving it a good soild look, when the staff walked by and told me that everything on that wall was 50% off! Shit $19.99 i could not pass up on it even if it was the worst one on the market i figured it would still work cheaper than running the spray paints for doing stuff like the frame bottoms and insides of bodys where perfect detail is not allways needed.

Well the details are scetchy as to what it actually does but i do have a few details shots, Its got a 7cc holding tank. 0.3mm Nozzle diameter. Its totally disasemebleable and looks like it has a replaceable nozzle.

Tell me what you guys think, i dont have the tank and regulator hooked up yet so i can't test it just yet.

Not bad for the price. The .3mm nozzle might be a little small for painting body's but for every thing els it will be fine. It may be hard to find parts if ever needed.

.5mm is better for doing bodies. You get a better flow rate and the spray width will be wider so fewer passes and overall better coverage.

Cool,

So then this one will work for spray painting the smaller stuff, the stuff still on the tree.

I guess i still need to look at buying a decent one for bodies

Re: Samona Air Brush Kit

This is a Chinese "pseudo" Iwata. They are basically copiues of Iwatas and made with chepaer materials - extremely popular here in Poland.

This was my first airbrush. They work pretty well and are a good way to figure out the "what is what" of airbrushing. I still use mine for brushing on primers and experimenting with god awful stuff I want to try AB-ing. It's my "disposable" airbrush now

Be VERY careful when removing the needle tip as they are made of VERY soft brass(?) and the threads strip in the blink of an eye.

When you remove the needle watch out for the trigger falling out and the air valve has a tendency to block up because backflushing pushes paint all the way inside the body.

If you have trouble with spare parts let me know - there are plenty here.
