2003 ford focus zts vs 2002 monte carlo ss (automatic)

i just bought a 2003 focus zts last week and finally got a chance to see what she can do .. dont get me wrong i know shes slo lol but still. a buddy of mines got a 2002 monte carlo ss, its bone stock except for his idea of an exhaust (a crome tip from auto zone lmao) anyways i i call him up and we cruse thru town to the only red light lol (small town) light goes green, i squeal a bit but i get the jump on him i pull away slighty by 3rd and when i hit 4 hes about a half a car back i held him to about 75 and shut down,he was less than a half a length back , i thought to myself how did i beat him lol?? he was like i wasnt ready and talkin all kind of shit ... so we went again same result but this time i had him by about 2 foot or so more...well not bad for first kill in the zts .....

Second slowest race evar.

Good kill none the less, at least some people are still running. What are your plans for the Focus?

Re: 2003 ford focus zts vs 2002 monte carlo ss (automatic)

Are you sure he didnt have his parking break on or something? j/k... I of all ppl know anything can happen on the street.

All the Focus ZTS's I see are 4-doors. Which I know they dont weigh shit something like 2700 lbs with a DOHC 2.0 that pushes 130/135 but that Monte Carlo SS has a 3.8 pushing 200/225 and weighs in at a hefty 3350.

Seems to me that Monte Carlo should have walked you without any problems what so ever, but it is the streets..

Nice kill...

It looks like your right. I would have never thought that. I was guessing a mid 15 second car. What a cow...I have been around several guys with 3.8 n/a that do have mods and are running low 14's. Thats pretty modded though.

Your friend can do some very simple mods and get that car on down the road a little better...

Nice job...I dont know much about aftermarket for your car but I hear they can be made to handle real well....

Re: 2003 ford focus zts vs 2002 monte carlo ss (automatic)

You would think they could of dropped the 240 HP Supercharged 3.8 V6 in it and at least made it just a little bit more worthy of the "SS" badging.

Well there is an SS and an SS supercharged, much like the SS and SS supercharged cobalts.
