How many miles on 5.7L/4L60?

I have 153K on my 1996 single-cab, short bed Z71. It sounds like many people with this many miles have already replaced both the engine and transmission, I'm worried/wondering how much longer I have on both.

I am at 185K on my 97 with a 5.0 and the same tranny. Truck runs great still, no problems. I do believe yours is a vortec motor, so watch the intake gaskets, they like to leak. First sign of this would be unexplainable coolant loss.

620000 Kilometers = 385,250. Miles on my buddys reg cab 1990. trans changed a 400000 km or 250000 miles eng still running good.

I have 220.000 k on the orig engine 91, 5.7, runs great, very little oil loss between changes, "valve guides" 1/4 quart=3k miles.

Same engine and trans.

Runs great!

262,000 on original motor and tranny. Properly maintained since purchased. As long as you take care of it, it will take care of you. I'm convinced!
