How much to remove side moldings

I'm currently putting together a plan for body work / paint on my car and I'm wondering how much shops charge to take off the side moldings. This is assuming that the whole car is being painted anyways.

but then you'd still have the indent from where the side moldings were at, and a shop could weld that in for you to make it look much better.

And to have them removed/shaved would probably be about $300.
Just to have them removed would be about $30.

well york i recommend you not even trying it your self. i tried doing it and i messed it all up. so when i got my taillight conversion done i just paid 800 bucks more to have my trunk ,antenna & side moldings done. there is alot of work involed when you try to shave your side moldings its better when they weld a piece of sheet metal than when you just fill the gap in with bondo
