optispark II question

hey guys, in the process of replacing the opti-spark II and water pump on my 95 formula LTI. question - will the distributor only go on one way? it was almost dark when i finally got the old one off, i have an Accel unit to put on and i didnt pay attention to which slot the pin from the camshaft was in on the old distributor. of the 3 slots, 2 are indented while one is rectangular, i'm assuming that is the one the pin needs to be aligned into? any help or things to watch out for is greatly appreciated.

Re: optispark II question

ahhhhh the joys of not paying attention

jk, its been a long time since i did a good ol opti, and im not a huge fan as most people will tell you, but as i recall, if you look at the pin, it is splined, and there is one big spline on each of the ends, those big splines will need to match up with the drive gear on the waterpump, and on the opti.

In short, to my knowledge, there is only one correct way to put it back together, unlike old distributors that could be 180* out.

Try PMing morley or formulaLT1, they know those engines better than i do.
