Wheel bearing, or something else?

Hi all again,

My mechanic took my 95 Maxima I just purchased for a test drive and said he heard a wheel bearing going, I can hear it also. He believes it is a rear wheel bearing, but I have not been able to find one. Auto parts guy said Maxima's don't have rear wheel bearings, but my mechanic thinks its a hub assembly that I need to replace. I hear a rythmic humming like noise coming from the rearish area on the left, the tires are still good but are a few years old.

Also, are there any issues with using full synthetic in these engines?

Thanks,
Cary

Re: Wheel bearing, or something else?

Find out your xploded view via link below. Manual page RA-6 says:"...replace wheel hub bearing assy..."

generally Full Synthetic is better.
