Usually I wet the tamiya sandpaper thoroughly before sanding (like dump a piece into water for about half a minute), and VERY lightly press the sandpaper down while sanding the surface in a circular motion. I don't need to press very hard because when the sandpaper is wet it kinda sticks to the surface and I use that 'water suction' effect. And you don't need to rub while under running water. When the sandpaper sorta dries up a bit, u'll start seeing the sanding dust appear and that's when I wet the paper again, and there are no scratches left behind!

Let you on another secret instead of paying x amount of money for the tamiya sandpaper just get sandpaper for plastic at your hardware store and wet snad it. Much cheaper and larger sheets. and instead of getting tamiya compond to buff the car normal car compand are the same after the compound use auto motive wax to give it that luster shine.

I always wet sand as it saves the sand paper from getting used up so quickly.
Makes alot less mess too as there is no dust
