2002 Durango R/T stalls at idle
I replaced the thermostat & housing, bypass hose & radiator hoses on my 5.9 engine. All the parts were genuine Mopar parts. After reconnecting the battery, the speedometer flipped all the way to the right. When I started the engine, it stalled. It starts and drives just fine however, it will not idle. Took it for a drive, the speedo corrected itself however, it stalls as soon as I let off the gas pedal. The only plugs I disconnected during the repairs were the Alternator and the A/C compressor. I re-checked and both are connected properly. Any ideas why it stalls and will not idle? I also checked for an error code on the odometer and it displays "P done".

may need a iac (idle air control motor) did you hook the ground back up on the stud for the ac tube hold down bracket

Re: 2002 Durango R/T stalls at idle
Re-checked all the connections. Took it for a drive and after a mile or two it is now idling just fine. Not sure what happened but now it is running great. Thanks!

Re: 2002 Durango R/T stalls at idle
For some reason when the battery is low on charge, these Dodge engines will not idle. Happened a couple of times to me when the battery was drained and needed jump started. You have to keep the throttle up off of idle until the battery has a little charge.
