1988 wont start

We have a 1988 Grand Marquis and it ran fine until the other day. We went to turn the corner and it died and now it doesn't want to start 99% of the time. When it does start it turns over and then dies right away. We have checked the fuel pump and the fuel filter. Can someone please give me an idea what else I should check. Please!
