I have a 2000 Impala with an 3.8 engine. By the flywheel thier is a sqeaking noise can't find it. If anyone know what could be causing this please let me know Could this be a thrust bearring or a cracked flywheel

Re: can't fix noise

Are you sure it's not the belt squeaking? Another common noise is the power steering pump, or the alternator.

if you remove belt and rotate pulleys you may find problem. i'm guessing that your a/c compressor pulley bearing is starting to go. now remember i'm guessing!
