Exclamation Intrepid

My 98 Intrepid has no heat(cold air when engine at running temp) stuck on defrost a/c switch wont light up no rear window defrost, the only thing that works is the fan?????

Can anyone help

The rheostat is probally bad and a common problem.It is on the bottom of the passenger side dash.pull the cover off to get to it.You can see it real easy,the plug sticks out and is held in by two 9/32" or 5/16" headed screws.The part is cheap and you can get it at any parts store

rheostat???? there is 3 units at the pass feet 1 has 2 wires and turns out 1 has about 6 wires 2 small nuts holding it in last one up high on far right 2 wires turns some doors my fan works ok on all speeds its not the riesistor.I need the heater core door to open and be able to go from defrost to bi level to feet.

try moving the blend door manualy to see if you get heat. stupid question did you check the fuses sounds like you may need a new contol head

fuse #17 good all good can move blending door that changes direction have not found heat yet is the control mean the dials on dash thats what i am thinking so far

I ment by resisitor and chrysler has problems with them including Sebrings,Stratuses,pickups,minivans and Durangos

this car is driving me nuts the heater the wipers i went and got new heater controls that did not work wiper stoped working then when i opened the door the started what is wrong with this car

check the wiring in the door you may have a broken or rubbing wire check between door and the body and repair the problem and check the grounds in the kick panel also
