Parts list/application/source

I thought we should have a place to list replacement/repair parts sources. Many of the parts are generic parts. Some of them are from production cars too. As you find parts sources, list them here. Of course, Gary Jones Motorsports is supporting these cars and we should support his business. Lets try to keep it clean and searchable for future searches.

Windshield - From a 99 Mustang. Find it in most junk yards or auto glass vendors.

Clutch cable - Fox body Mustang GT (87-93). (I think , correct me if I'm wrong)

Transmission seals and parts. The trans is a Temec 3550. Tremec changed the model numbers of these a few years ago. Parts are available here. Standard Transmission.

Re: Parts list/application/source

Thanks Jim... I have a spare windshield as the one in my car now is cracked but on the right side so it should still pass tech.

Apparently these things like to crack windshields.

Motor Mounts - These are from a Fox body Mustang GT. 93 Mustang GT should get you what you need. This is for the GT-RA. Your application may vary.

There are two different styles of mounts used on the GTRA. Mine uses the Fox body mounts.

Jim;
Do you know if the solid mounts can be used? What would be recommended? The rubber mounts seems to wear out quickly, but the solid mounts will transmit a lot more vibration to the frame structural members.

Re: Parts list/application/source

Thanks guys... I'm keeping a "misc info" doc in my panoz folder. Jim thanks again for putting all the info up online. Having the owners manual and the parts manual will make ownership 100x easier.

I don't see why they couldn't be used. A friend of mine recommended I use solid. He has then in all of his track cars. His cars break a lot so I tend to do the opposite of whatever he recommends.

Re: Parts list/application/source

I'm sure a fox mustang specific solid mount exists... I'll ask my buddies at PAS and get back to you guys.

They specialize in road race mustangs.

Re: Parts list/application/source

A few companies make solid mounts: http://www.uprproducts.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=355

Quote:
Solid Motor Mount Kit for all Small Block Ford Mustangs equipped with a 289, 302 and 351 based engine.

These new UPR motor mounts are 1/2 the weight of stock and aluminum motor mounts. But most of all they are much stronger than any other brand available on the market.

These units are on many of the class champions and racers in todays industry.

Re: Parts list/application/source

Thanks guys. I think I'll evaluate the frame members where the motor mounts attach. If they pass the once over, I may go with solid mounts.

Re: Parts list/application/source

My rubber ones are fine... look fairly new, but I'll most likely go w/ solids to keep the motor stable and plan for a future higher power mill.

Fuel pump - currently available from Gary Jones Motorsport for a very fair price.

Re: Parts list/application/source

This forum is a great reference. I am hoping to compile alot of this information and put it on a web site as a reference to Panoz owners. Here are some parts numbers (and pad interchange) on some of the brake components on the GTRAs:

Front brakes calipers: Brembo (sometimes called Viper or F40 calipers)

Front brake pads: Performance Fiction 7780.97.18.44
Interchange series: Brembo 1976, Hawk HB-193, Pagid 1287, 2179
Fits Brembo 20.4862.08/08 Calipers (FMSI D810, D968) used on:
1999-2003 Aston Martin DB7
2003-05 Dodge Viper
1988-95 Ferrari F40 / F50, 1998-2000 Ferrari Modena
2000-03 Jaguar XK R, 2003-04 Jaguar XK 8 / XK Coupe
1997-2003 Lamborghini Diablo

Front rotors: 2 piece Performance Friction floating rotor 12.91"x1.25"
328.32.0050.01 (left) and 328.32.0050.02 (right)

Rear rotors: 2 piece Performance Friction floating rotor 12.91"x1.1"
328.28.0050.01 (left) and 328.28.0050.02 (right)

From what I understand, PF doesnt make the 97 pad compound any longer. From their description, it sounds like a street/track pad. I plan on switching to something more aggressive once we use up the "stock" pads.

I will see if I can find some interchange pads for the rears since I just found the part number in this thread.

Re: Parts list/application/source

Thanks for the data dump. I agree that the best use of this forum is the exchange of info on parts, processes to fix things, and general info on these bad ass cars.
I've used PFC pads for my Z06 for over 3 years. No complaints. The pads were great for cross purpose use of driving on the road and track use. But for a dedicated track car, a set of Hawk pads might be superior. Any additional info will be very much appreciated.

Re: Parts list/application/source

I cant find anything definitive on the rear brakes, but it looks like the pads may interchange with the Hawk 194.570. These are from 92-02 Vipers, CTS-Vs, and the 2000 Cobra R Mustang. Can anyone verify this is the rear pad? The Hawk pad is at the top and the PF pad is at the bottom. They look the same to me.

Dont know if Gary picked up any pads, but considering the racing pads are about $250/axle, the "stock" PF might be a good option.
