1994 Cherokee,headlight relay location

Does anyone know where the headlight realys are located on a 1994 Cherokee , manual trans, 4.0....
The relay isn't under the hood wth the other relays and fuses and it isn't on the fuse block under the dash with the flashers...
I got the Haynes manual and they don't even shoe a relay on the schematics. My headlight circuit went kerflooy, it indicates that I am in high beam mode, won't change out of it and the lights don't work at all, there appears to be 12 v to the lights, the lamps are good, I bought new ones anyhow. It's like the relay is stuck between hi/lo .
NAPA sold me a relay, so there apparently is one to replace, just can't find where to put it.
Thanks

Cool Re: 1994 Cherokee, headlight relay location

Believe it or not....I don't think there is a relay. There is a 20A fuse in the PDC and it feed the headlamp switch and from there to the high-low switch and then if feeds the headlamps through two fuses (10A each). [My source is the 2000 MY diagram. I also looked at the 93 MY diagram and there is no relay used either.]

Try this:

If you have 12 volts at the light socket, then I would suspect a ground problem.

Re: 1994 Cherokee,headlight relay location

I do have 12 volts to the socket. I did think about a ground problem, I bought the Haynes manual and really don't see how all of a sudden I lose the ground to both headlights. I have a lot of screwy things going on with the l9ights now. I don't have signals, the hi beam indicator stays on always, my flashers won't flash unless I put it in low beam mode, and still in low beam mode, the high beam indicator stays lit.....
I am going to replace the blown rear signal and maybe just maybe this has caused some crazy screw ball problem . Too weird came out of no where

i've seen the switch itself cause this problem. especially if you've put in brighter lights...... try changing it - 12 bucks at advance auto......

Re: 1994 Cherokee,headlight relay location

THanks for your help, but mI found that I had a ground problem.
I don't know why all of a sudden I had not continuity with enegative wire, but I ran a new ground and viola the Headlights came back on.
