oil filter housing

it looks like i have a small leak around my oil filter houseing...what do you think it could be? would it be that the housing is cracked maybe? think it is major o ris it common?

How about something a little less drastic?... Like just a leaking gasket perhaps?...

sometimes when your oil filter gets changed, the old oil seal from the filter gets stuck to the block.
or the filter is loose.
get a new filter, remove the old one, check to see if there is a gasket stuck to the block/flange seat for the filter, if not, clean the new filter seal seat and lightly oil the new seal on the new filter.
install untill it feels tight then gice it a half turn extra.
