Honda Civic V Ford Focus

Say both had about evenly skillful drivers. Which would win only on stock specs? Give your vote

Ex civic vs Zx3, Id say focus definitely. The Zetec is a punchy engine for its size.

From experience I would say it's a driver's race. The Zetec might have slightly better torque and power, but the Honda has better gearing to utilize what it has. How do I know this? I've raced both an I/E EX and an I/E ZX3. I beat both cars by about the same length, which is about 2-3 cars by the time we got to 90 or so. Don't forget, all the Foci are heavy buggers. Even the SVTs weigh in at 2800LBS.

But, with having to vote for equal drivers, I'd say the Focus between the ZX3 (the one I raced kept up better at past 90+) and the EX (1992+). The 1996+ DX/HX hatch however, would win. The older hatches had more variation (70HP to 127HP), so figure that as you go. The SVT has launching problems due to a traction control system that can't be easily defeated. That would put it at a disadvantage against Si's. Without that however, advantage Focus.

I agree w/ carrrnuttt. Drivers race! We should get someone to put it down for us.

The ZX2 is not a Focus. The Focus models include the sedan, the wagon, the ZX3, the ZX5, and the SVT. The ZX2 was originally marketed as an Escort, but it is not an Escort either.

Just wanted to clear that up for you.
