Re: how to change ingnition switch

Pull radio, remove ignition bezel with small screwdriver.
Put key in ignition turn to on position and through radio access use a small screwdriver or drill bit to depress pin in cylinder and use key in aid to pull cylinder out.

Re: how to change ingnition switch

But relearn procedure must be done.
1- ign on,engine off
2- attempt to start engine then release key to on position
3- observe security light, should be on,after 10 min light will go off
4- turn ignition off wait 5 secs
5- vechicle now redy to learn passcode
6- try to start if it starts, clear codes,if not redo 1-6

Re: how to change ingnition switch

Might check this link out(its for the grand am , exaclty the same part and procedure) it's a little more involved then whats described above.
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=715987

Can be tricky getting the cylinder to release and the cable/wire connectors.

Hope that helps
