new starter?

Just got a 2000 alero for a work car, found out it has a remote with it and antenna press button 1 lights inside and out blink then press again LED light blinks.... button two does nothing, when pressed together the car starts for a couple seconds then shuts off and then starts then shuts off 3 x it does it the information i found on the remote and antenna reads:

Direct HF PLUS (antenna)
Remote- Your Valet RPN471T
FCCID EZSDE1471

Why wont it just stay on?

I am not familiar with that remote start setup. However, the company that makes it is DEI. I would recommend finding an authorized DEI installer in your area, and have them check it over. It sounds to me like there is a bug in the wiring.

That sounds like the older Valet 552t remote start system. It sounds like the wiring is OK but they only hooked up the starter and not keyless part It also seems like the bypass for the PK2 theft system is not working properly.
