The civic, rsx, and s2000, have been the first to be given this new look and more may be on the way like the accord. The FP line as can be seen in the march issue of road and track, all have a tire/wheel/suspension/styling package added on for a couple thousand more. Now wouldnt you think a car company that has very tuneable cars would do something to the engines of this new line of cars. But they dont, they concentrate on handeling and not speed/power. Sure a great handling car is wounderful, but if you are going to make a performance model shouldnt you upgrade every part of the car and not just concentrate on one theme like handeling. I want to know your opinions. Will this new line flop or be a huge step forword for honda. Let me know your opinions.

So is it an upgrade itself to the stock car? ie. TL Type-S-->TL Type-S A-spec Or is it another model designation? ie. TL-->TL TypeS |

When I bought my 02' civic it had the option of the FP package. Really all it is: Basic OEM body 4pc body kit, some emblems here and there decals, shift nob, rims, steering wheel, and I thinks different seats. Its not to bad but it is overpriced.

Re: Honda's new Factory performance line
Most people just upgrade the engines themselves how they want it. If Honda slapped a turbo on it, lots of people would just buy a bigger/faster spooling one or totally change it. It provides a better base car for modding. And if I'm not right correct me, but Mugen is a seperate company that works with Honda, not owned by it.

Re: Honda's new Factory performance line
I think Mugen is a separate entity. I also think this Fp thing is faggotry. No power increase?!! That's ridiculous. I think that they will see some success with it though. After a little while, they will add some sort of power adder, maybe not turbo, and certainly not NOS, but then they will prove they are serious. And if it ain't all about power, which I agree with, then add some fucking brakes to the Si. Lord knows that's one of it's biggest shortcomings. Think SVT Focus, or SRT4, or even MAZDASPEED. They all thought this through a little more, and look where it got them. I mean, Honda has to know that they have the hottest cars right now for aftermarket. Who better to buy from than H? Imagine if we had the CTR instead of the lame duck Si. Dope. Straight dope.

I always thought that Mugen was somehow part of the Honda corporation, but that they only sold parts in Japan. Similar to Nismo's relationship with Nissan. I could be wrong about both, however...
