Transfer case??....HELP
Hey...so for a while my car was clicking loudly if i let off the gas and then all of the sudden a week later i was driving (not beating on it) and it was like clink, grind, pop, and it stalled out i started it back up and i was finally at my girlfriends house...started it up and tried to put it in 1st and take off...i let out clutch and didnt move and stalled out...the next day i went back and jacked t up and and put it in 1st gear it grinded then large amounts of oil coming from transfer case area...?...what do u guys think??...Thanx

I hope this isn't the car in your sig...
Yoke seal? cracked case? EDIT: I remember for about a month my car would knock or click before it totally spun a rod bearing and it always did it when I let off the gas. Under load it never knocked. Food for thought.

Yeah its the car in my sig...im pissed i hope its not alot of money to fix...maybe i is a rod bearing thats what i thought...but the oil?..

OK, well you can eliminate the T-Case since you don't have one. They are only on all wheel drive models. Did you mean from the transmission? What kind of oil is it? motor oil, gear oil? what color was it? do you have an auto or manual?
When you first start your car after its been off for awhile, does it do the clicking things for a second or 2?

o yeah a 5 spd....black oil not sure what kind....not good with motors...motor oil i believe and no does not tick when start up only when i let off gas...but does not go any where anymore

You are going to need to check the levels of both to see which one it was.
So you can start it, it just stalls when trying to go into gear?

does it make that clicking sound when u let off the gas when its in gear? as compared to out of gear?

yeah well now it doesnt drive it just stalls out when u put it in gear and let out the clutch...but before it only clicked when it was in gear letting off the gas.

sounds like you were leaking gear oil. check if there is any oil in the transmission.
