01 bravada hub problems

I have a 2001 olds bravada (110,000 mi) & have replaced the right hub 2 times now. In Feb 07 I replaced both sides & now 10 months later the right side has gone again. It is still under warranty so thats good but dont want to have to keep replacing yearly. Anybody else have to replace as often as me? Is this a common problem for this truck ? Are some part brand names better to use ? Could there be another reason for these to wear out as often as they do? My mechanic is sick of replacing & I am sick of paying...Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks !

What brand of bearing are you you using.
Are they sucking water or what is faling or going bad on them?
Are you putting the proper torque on them?

I checked my receipts & last receipt(2/07) says Timken front wheelbearing (CPW). I also replaced in 8/03 and there is not a brand name listed. Could this just be defective part ? Thought Timken was a good name? Thanks again...

The Timken bearing made in the U.S. is a quality bearing. As more companies are buying foreign I would check where they are made.
If you live in Texas driving through high water on one side will take out a bearing.

Timken is a good brand.
But a lot of companys are selling there brand to be put on el cheapo 90 day wonder parts.

Make sure they are using the good ones.
Some have a cheap or good line.

On the 2/07 ticket what did they charge for the part?

You might try the good line of BCA/Bower/National bearing.

It's not a hard job - about 5x the work of changing a tire with very little additional skill required (remove wheel, remove brakes, pry out old unit, insert new unit, replace brakes, replace wheel).

In other words, you should be doing this yourself. I did mine (both front) in my driveway in an afternoon.
