2000 Caravan won't start

Got a 2000 Caravan 6cyl, 3L.

Other day was driving down the highway, suddenly most of the gauges maxed out, then I lost complete engine power. However, it was only the engine power...the rest of the electric worked in the car (lights, radio, etc). Now the engine will turn over but doesn't catch (doesn't even sound like it wants to catch).

Have either checked, or replaced:
-battery and terminals (battery sat for two days and maintained full charge)
-distributor cap and rotor
-ignition wires
-quick check of the ignition coil and appeared to be fine
-air filter
-full tank of gas is in it (it is higher octane as the station was out of the high 80s stuff).
-tried spraying a 'drying-off' product over most the electrical
-oil level fine
-belts seem fine

If it simply didn't start, I'd likely have a lot more possible problems, but I was an hour into a two hour journey when it gave out. Any help that anybody could lend would be much appreciated...this -10 degree weather only allows me to spend 45 minute stints on it at a time.

Thanks,
Dan

Your fuel pump in the gas tank is bad.
That is when they quit, at -10.

Check fuel pump pressure with a gauge if possible.
Tap on gas tank with a rubber mallet or 2x4, sometimes this will get the fuel pump to work again if it is locked up.
Try spraying carb cleaner or starting fluid in the throotle body to see if it will run. Have you checked fuses for fuel pump and fuel pump relay??
Check fuel filter.

Which gauges maxed out??
How is your coolant level??

I've checked the fuses for the pump and relay...both good. Coolant is always on the lower end as the water pump's on the way out.

I'll try that knocking technique on the pump to see if I can squeeze some more life out of it.

Thanks for the tips.

Also check this link: http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us...rInfoPages.htm

The Shutdown relay may the problem.
The above link is for 99 but hopefully is similiar to a 2000. They don't have a manual for 2000.

Hope this helps.
