97 P/A a/c ?

hi, took the car to dealer because the a/c stop blowing cold air. i put my obd2 reader on no comunication. the dealer said the body control module and the cables shorted it out. any way cost 750.00 they said that sould take care of problem.. nope still blew hot air . now the say is blower control module. took my car back now i get reading it says p0113 intake air temp. sensor 1 circuit high input. can this sensor take care of the a/c problem... please help.... sorry for grammar..............

I hope you did not pay the dealer $750.00 to guess at what parts to change! If the service provided did not fix the problem, tell them that you paid them to fix the problem the first time and if they misdiagnosed and changed the wrong part, they should complete the job without any additional cost to you. Obviously, the original part (BCM) was not defective in the first place!
One important question needs to be answered; does the blower motor (fan) run on all speed settings the way it should?

No, the IAT has nothing to do with the A/C! The IAT sensor is located on your intake air box and monitors the temperature of the air passing through the filter. If someone removed your air cleaner, or replaced the filter recently, they probably left the sensor connector loose or failed to put the sensor back in it’s original location. Look around the air intake for a loose wiring connector with a little sensor hanging on it.


BTW, if the dealer fails to respond to your problem, tell them you will report them to the BBB, and then go find a dealer that knows how to troubleshoot these problems.

hello HOTZ28, thanks for the info. and yes i had to pay to get my car back what do think the problem could be or how to follow up on the problem. i live in pompano beach, florida

when i took the car in it had 3 other problems . airbag light came on the inside lights stop working and the rear defrog also stop working all this plus the ac stop working at the same time. thats why they said it was the wiring shorted the body module control. can that be posible.

Almost anything is possible, but before we discuss your other electrical gremlins, lets try to address what is causing you’re A/C not to work, since that was the original thread topic. In addition, when we ask a question, it is very important to respond to the question, otherwise we can not help you. Troubleshooting problems like this requires good bi-lateral communication. One previously asked question that still needs to be answered; does the blower motor (fan) run on all speed settings the way it should?

Thanks, if "the blower is doing all it's functions", that eliminates the blower control module as being the source of your problem! (Dealer wrong again)!

Have you had the A/C system pressure tested to verify refrigerant level? Have you checked for a blown fuse, or sticking relay? Next, find another place to take your car, maybe somewhere they specialize in electrical gremlins & A/C work!
