sway bar link replacement part?
The front right side sway bar link aka stabilizer link has too much play where it attaches to the sway bar on my '99 1.3l Metro. It makes a clunking sound when it goes over bumps. I'd like to replace the linkage, but all I can find at Napa, autozone, advanced auto etc. is a kit that doesn't look like what I need. The link looks like a right angle joint that's rubber mounted. I want to replace the whole link from where it attaches to the control arm to where it attaches to the sway bar.
Does anyone know of where I can get replacements? I saw one on e-bay for a '97. Anyone know if this is the same as for a '99? |

Re: sway bar link replacement part?
The newer 1.3 Metros also seem to have issues with the rubber bushings in the lower control arms. I would check the bushings and make sure they don't have rubber pieces coming apart. You can buy lower control arm assemblies on Ebay cheap and they do a lot for how the car drives down the road. Each new arm comes with a new lower ball joint and two new bushings. Check it out here:

Re: sway bar link replacement part?
'95 and newer is all the same. That link is a right angle ball joint where it connects to the bar, the end that connects to the control arm is just a threaded rod with rubber grommets and washers. The rubber grommets or bushings are standard, no different from any other car.
