Jerking wipers in delay mode

I have a 2003 Pontiac grand am gt1. The wipers when in regular wiping mode works ok. In pulse mode when you use just once they will go for 3 or times before parking. Some they don't park at the reg stop. Some times they be jerky when they get close to bottom of the windshield. This even happens when they are in delay mode. This tells me it a problem with the control. I'm wondering is the control in the switch on the steering column or on the wiper motor and transmission.

Re: Jerking wipers in delay mode

Welcome to AF.

The limit circuit is on the motor I believe.

Check the ground cable off the side of the motor , that sounds like your troubles. Test the ohms from the motor black wire terminals to a body ground, should be 0-2ohms.

Also check and see if the linkage piviot points needs some lubrication, if they are dry, they will be jerky and may not park properly.

Try a search and you'll probly find another thread on the same topic.

Hope that helps.
