Re: 86 firebird

meh, mostly just underpowered for the weight vehicle, but that was the designed intention.

Re: 86 firebird

Not really worth the work, wich is quite a bit. This a FAQ thread that covers this to give you an idea of all that is involved with the swap.

Re: 86 firebird

why would it not be worth the effort? i can get a 350 small block for cheap that i can rebuild and even though im not a millionaire does not mean i cant do anything. i know there are different mounts to go in with the 350 and since its a late model muscle car i thikn it would be fun. you should know that little project that u fiddle around with all year.

Because it would be cheaper to just trade the car in and get one already with a V8. It's not just about swapping the blocks out, alot more is involved to the point that the costs outweigh the value of the vehicle.

Re: 86 firebird

personaly i think it would be worth it to switch out the v6 for a v8 if you want to but you will have to get a different transmision if it is a automatic car or at least a new belhousing, clutch, and flywheel if it is a manual. there would be other things that need to be changed but those are the biggest that i can think of off of the top of my head
