99 Durango Transmission

I have a 99 durango that everytime I step on the gas to go it stutters to the piont that I have to let the gas off and just inch my why to get up to speed. Is my transmission going out or is there another problem with it.

Is there a distinct smell around your truck that's similar to kerosene?

First, make sure that you transmission fluid is full. If it gets low, it will shift up and down at impropper speeds.

Thanks for all your answers but I had to replace my transmission. I had metal shavings in the pan. Thanks again.
