Remote Keyless

hello,
I'm new in the forum, i have a basic question. i want to buy a Remote key for my car (Nissan Sentra 2001) and i want to know how can i make sure that this option is allowed for the car.
I looked to the owner manual and there is no information.
Should i contact a dealer?

i dont know if it was the same for the sentras as the frontiers but i had heard of the trucks already having the reciever in the vehicle you just needed a remote, the dealer will try to sell you the whole kit which is like 800 bucks, but some of the people i had talked to were able to get an 80 dollar keyfob and program it to the car

do you have power locks? do you have the security system in it. a blinking led on the top right part of the dash? if so, you have the reciever already in your car.

if you dont have a remote already, then idk how you can figure out what code remotes you need. you can buy the physical remote that works perfect and everything for about 24 bucks shipped from ebay. thats what i did, and they work perfect. just need to know the
