Short somewhere draining my battery!!

I have a 2000 Durango that was working fine. Woke up one day and the battery was dead. My mechanic friend took a little time to track down the problem, and all he could come up with was for me every nite to pull the radio/overhead light fuse. This solves the problem of keeping my battery charged, but does that lead me any closer to where the problem/short lies???? Any input would be appreciated! Thanks!! Lindsey

Re: Short somewhere draining my battery!!

I had a similar issue. I am not sure if the radio / interior fuse also feeds the under-hood light. However, my under-hood light came loose from its mount, allowing it to turn on whenever the hood was closed, rather than open.

This took several days for me to find. You might want to check it out.
