Soft Brakes

Is there anyway to stiffen the brakes on a 2002 z71? I just put new pads on it and the pedal remains soft. Is there any adjustment in them? Thanks

when replacing brake pads open bleed screw use C clamp to push caliper piston all the way back. close bleed screw. install new pads. push down on brake pedal slowly but not to floor. keep pumping until pedal high then with assistant keep brake pedal down open bleed screw and let out some fluid repeat until clear [no air] repeat for all calipers. never allow brake reservior to go empty, or you are screwed. air in brake fluid causes soft pedal most times.changing brake pads will never fix soft pedal........use oem brake pads for correct braking if you run different manufactures pads front/ rear abs/front rear braking rates can cause increased braking distances. if this is hard to understand have repair shop do this properly.

Re: Soft Brakes

I took it to a place and they replaced the rotors and pads with oem spec parts. I was hoping there was something more I could do to stiffen the pedal. thanks!
