Question Tanabe Cat-Back Exhaust

I just recently put on a Tanabe Cat-Back Exhaust on my 90 Accord EX A/T... and I was hoping I'd get the nice loud roar from it but unfortunately nothing... when i start the car you can hear it a lil other than that sounds like stock... any suggestions how i could fix it?

If you have an emissions check in your area, then get some sort of a high flow cat, but if not, get a test pipe and totally remove your converter (like I did).

I got mine from www.testpipes.com You would get more of a throaty engine noise with a test pipe. You could also get a resonator type test pipe (pretty much replace your converter with a resonator). I think that you can get those from ebay.

did u install the whole thing? cuz on my accord, my medalian sounded sweet...no, it wasn't LOUD, but it was loud enough an u could hear it when u accelerated. but if u want a louder exhaust, then i agree, get more air goin, an get a high flow cat.

At the end, where your muffler is. The opening is very small with the silencer installed. There is a little screw that you need to loosen and then it will slide out. Every Tanabe comes with one, but yours must have already been installed when you got it. Double Check it and see what you find out, it makes me wonder, because I think Tanabe has one of the best sounding exhaust systems out there...

I checked the whole exhaust end and i did not see any holes or anything inside the muffler... so I'm guessing there isn't a silencer in it. I just find it odd that everyone else around here has the deep throaty sound but me.

agreed...maybe its jus ur underestimating how loud it is? cuz i mean...unless u've got something clogged in it, or have NO air going through, its gonna be pretty good.
