Left turn stall

I have a 1999 GC Laredo, even after a full tune up and electronics checked, I have (without fail), a slight engine stall when making a left turn when starting from a stop and accelerating, it bogs for a second or two and then picks up speed at a slightly faster pace.

It only does that only on the 1st left hand turn the car is being driven. After that, no problems. It's been to the dealer three times and no problems has been found, tho' duplicated.

Wondering if anyone else has this problem or a solution?

My Jeep does the same thing. I found that if the fuel is at 1/4 or less it stalls on a sharp or fast left turn. I think all the fuel flows to the passenger side away from the fuel pump in the tank.

left turn bog down

My 98 Grand Cherokee just started doing this last week. It even died on me this morning. Only happens when I turn left. About 3 weeks ago my fuel gauge started going loco. Bouncing all over the place and showing empty when I knew there was over half a tank left. Hoping the issues are related. Any idea what it is?

Mine does it too - always has. Scares the daylights out of my wife, but then again she's pretty lead footed. Has jeep acknoleged this problem, because it is pretty dangerous, especially if you're not expecting it.

Turns still stalling

Did anyone ever get the problem solved?? I'm still going thru it after a new tune-up, tranny fluid change, new fuel filter. Whether the tank was full or near empty, it still stalls (or hesitiates) on left turns. The dealers completely baffled.

Jeep Cherokee Left Turn Stall

My '99 Cherokee has been doing this for a while now. It started happening when I had about 1/8 of a tank of gas, and now it happens with 1/4 tank. I was starting to think that maybe my gas gauge is off, but I don't think that is the issue. It's gotten to the point where it actually does stall, and I have to stop, restart, and go. I had my Jeep in for a complete tune up about 3 months ago and asked that they check out the problem...of course they found nothing.
Another friend of mine also has a '99 Cherokee and was told he needed a new fuel pump when he inquired about the problem. He had the new pump installed (expensive) but it didn't stop the stalling.

A friend of mine had a similar problem on his jeep, it turned out to be the feed tube inside the gas tank had a crack in it and would only run if the fuel level was at a certain level.

Left Turn Stall - solution

The solution to left turn stall problem turned out to be a new gas cap. My emissions test failed when my tank wasn't pressurizing properly, and I was required to buy a new cap to fix the problem. My Jeep has not stalled once since replacing the cap.

I just posted a similar message because I didn't read far enough back to see this cluster. I have the same problem... I will try the new fuel cap and will check the pump intake this weekend. Did anyone else find other solutions as well? When I lick this problem I will post whatever solution works for me for those of you who haven't solved your's yet.
